PUBLIC TRANSPORT FROM NIMES TO ST ANDRE DE VALBORGNE VIA ST JEAN DU GARD

STEP 1 - Get the bus service from Nîmes (behind train station) to St Jean du Gard (ligne A12).
STEP 2 - Get the bus from St Jean du Gard to St Andre de Valborgne OR Hitch-hike (there are few busses)!
STEP 3 - Walk or get a lift to Gardoussel (1,5 km)

WHAT IS CASSEOPEA?

Hey, we're organising a unique creativity residency in the magical Cevennes mountains (south of France) at the wonderful Gardoussel, home of Alex & Sharon, our musical, poetic, creative, barefoot, danceable giant elfin-like river-loving hosts.

We've got 18 "full residency" places (shared rooms + group self-catering kitchen + loft + gardens) as well as unlimited "self-sufficient camping" places on the field by the river (there's running tap water and that's it !)

It's gonna be mad and fun and awesome. We're inviting musicians (electronic and acoustic), poets, writers, visual artists, and others that don't fit into any boxes even if they could.

During the week, we'll open the doors to the public (Thursday & Friday) to raise some operational cash. Depending on how that goes, we might be able to fund food or travel costs. But essentially, the event is costing us nothing (Gardoussel are donating their home) and costing you nothing (other than contribution to buying food, drinks, and getting here of course).

PROGRAM

We are cheekily excited to be inviting you to Cassiopeia, an intimate multi-medium music and arts event in a very special hamlet in the Cevennes mountains.

Ingredients : A week of live artisitc happenings, collaborations, partys,in-house DJing in nature. Wild camping on a 18 hectare estate with woodland, meadow & river. Fire circle. Barefoot dancing. Bring your own food and drinks (limited on-site access to liquid essentials !). Sorry no dogs.

Cassiopeia will be run on a 'not for profit' basis, and is also a networking opportunity for the artists who are performing. The event will not be advertised and we have no sponsorship.

Saturday 16th July
Artists and campers can arrive any time from 16h onwards

Sunday 17th & Monday 18th
Creative collaboration melting pots. Making friends. River time. Easy time. Sharing… etc.

Tuesday 19th
Mid-week private party for residents + campers only

Wednesday 20th
Get some stuff prepared for public day

Thursday 21st
Open day / public performances & happenings / night party open to public

Friday 22nd
Open day / public performances & happenings / night party open to public

Saturday 23rd
Site tidy-up and leave by 12 noon

+ During creative workshop time… generating duos & trios & group pieces is the motto for this collaborative event, especially with people who don't play together usually!

+ For you music and sound enthusiasts, we have a multi channel sound system by Julien Clauss

WILD-CAMPING

Please bring a tent or something to sleep in outside ! We provide a drinking water point and access to a public toilet. That is it !

+ BBQ's is OK in safe area.

Gardoussel is a small hamlet 1.6 km north St Andre de Valborgne (take the D10 on the Florac side of St Andre...). 1.6 km out of St Andre, you will see a sign marked Gardoussel on your right and a small bridge. Cross the bridge and drive up into the hamlet and look for the parking area.
